Lead report & conversion?

Is there a way to report on how many leads have been given to a sales person during any time period, i.e day, week, month.

I need to report on how many given regardless of if they have been converted in the meantime.

For a sales crm, i find it strange i can't report on this. Also i would ike to know how many have been converted in to potenials and then onto sales..... the last one is easy but a full conversion report should be standard.

Any idea's?
