I'm new to Zoho and have been spending a lot of time searching the forums, but thought I'd try the direct route:
Our nonprofit targets both businesses and residential customers for implementing (free) energy efficiency measures. I'm unsure what might be the best way to structure our process, since for residential customers there will never be an "account" (they will exist simply as individuals), but for our businesses and municipalities I think it will be important to maintain the account structure (multiple contacts attached to a single account).
Our sales process is essentially the following:
* Capture leads, both residential and business
* Qualify interest in receiving an energy efficiency measure installed
* Sign contract and provide installation service
However, our actual conversion volume will be relatively low (couple dozen per month), and the real value for us using ZCRM is in just tracking contacts/accounts and knowing whether/when/how they've been touched by us in the past so that we know how we want to continue communicating with them via email and postal mail.
So I guess my questions are:
* Do I face any potential issues with trying to have both individuals and businesses as leads, as potentials, or as contacts/accounts?
* Given that our sales "cycle" is very simple and short--basically, they sign up for an install and it's done within a month--does it make sense to even bother with potentials? Or just keep everyone as a lead, create a custom field for "In process..." and then once installation occurs convert to contact/account?
Thanks!
