Let's face it, managing a customer service operation is a mammoth task. Tickets come in from multiple channels and cater to different departments. The customer service team acts as a liaison to coordinate with internal teams and close tickets as quickly as possible. To add to this, most organizations use a variety of software for their internal functions like sales and engineering, creating a complicated web of apps. This calls for a universal connector that can integrate your customer service software with other tools. Zoho Desk's integration with Zapier helps you do just that.
 
With Zapier, your apps can interact with one another to share important data efficiently. Cover all your bases, and channels too. Zapier lets you automate manual tasks such as converting emails or social media posts into tickets. Send replies, add comments, and create contacts within Zoho Desk using data from your CRM, project management software, or any other relevant tool. With Zapier, managing your everyday functions becomes a lot simpler, so you can focus on meeting deadlines and delivering prompt customer service. 
 
How it all works:
  1. Select the two apps you'd like to connect.
    Let's take Slack and Zoho Desk as an example.


  2. Decide on a workflow that you'd like to automate.
    Your company has a Slack channel with all your sales and support reps. To ensure that your sales team is clued-in on support tickets, you want a message to be sent on the channel every time a ticket is created within Zoho Desk.


     
  3. Based on this workflow, choose an appropriate 'trigger'. 

     In this use-case, you'd select the trigger 'Every time a ticket is created' in Zoho Desk. 
  4. Choose a subsequent action in the connecting application. 
    Here, the action you want to select is 'Send Channel Message' in Slack. 
  5. And finally, hit 'Connect Zoho Desk and Slack' to activate your connection.
    You've now created a custom Zap between Zoho Desk and Slack.

I know Slack is popular. However, wouldn't I be wiser to use Zoho Flow for integrations?

If you're at a decision point as to which integration platform to choose, we would certainly recommend Zoho Flow because it is one of our own apps and has successfully helped many customers integrate with other apps including Desk. Here’s a quick overview of what Zoho Flow offers:

- 240+ cloud apps ready to integrate with and many more in pipeline
-Simple drag and drop workflow builder and pre-built templates to get you started
- Powerful logical elements like Decisions, Delays and Custom Functions to help build comprehensive business workflows

Having said this, thousands of businesses already use Zapier as their integration platform and it would be impractical to recommend they swap out a whole platform just to integrate better with their helpdesk. So we integrate with Zapier as well.

Does Zapier and Zoho desk work to crate a case in Salesforce

You can use Zapier to connect Zoho Desk and Salesforce and create a case in Salesforce. Please check the image attached.

HI Vaidehee,

Have been trying to zap GMail with Zoho Desk, but struck at contact in Zoho Desk - Create Ticket. I wish contact - to be mail sender and possibly check Zoho CRM entry presence or else create a lead. Any Solution ?

Checking for a lead in CRM directly via the zap is not possible now but it'd be great if you could email us your use case so we can look at possibilities to achieve this. Please email us at support[at]zohodesk[dot]com.
