Linux Startup?

Is there a way to startup VO at bootup with Linux? I've tried several scripts etc, but I keep getting an error that it can't find ./setcommonenv.sh from the run.sh script. When I start the run.sh script manually (./run.sh) it works just fine. I've also tried running it in the background under the root login, but once I logout of root it kills the script. Otherwise, I have to leave a console root login with the ./run.sh running. Just a little pain to keep it running. If there could be an xinetd startup/shutdown script that would be great or even some other way of doing it. Thanks!
