Lookup Field Criteria

Does anyone know how to set the "Lookup" field criteria?

We have a "Lookup" field for "Accounts" in our "Leads" and "Potentials", and it's used to select companies we work with...the problem we are having is that it's showing all our Active and Inactive "Accounts".....We only want it to show Active Accounts.

Is there a way to do this? Or some special way to edit the criteria in the View of "All Accounts" to make it work.
