mail forwarding setup instructs recipients to login to zoho

Forwarding of an domain email sends a confirmation code to the forwarding address, instructing them to login to zoho:


You need to validate the request by providing the below confirmation code in Zoho Mail Settings.

To enter the confirmation code in Zoho,follow the steps below:

    Login to www.zoho.com/mail
    Select Mail Settings >> Email Forwarding/POP/IMAP
    Click on the Verify link corresponding to the email address to be validated, in the Email Forwarding section
    Provide the Confirmation code in the text box provided
    Click Confirm


I find this a bit strange.  The recipient may not have the login credentials for the original address and may not have a zoho account at all.  In that case, I need to instruct them to send the confirmation email to me, so I can get the verification code and enter it as per the instructions above.  Perhaps the instructions should say so.

The use case is that we have a public info@mydomain email address (hosted in zoho), which we want to forward to a few people in the organization who should see those emails.  Not all of those people have login access to info@mydomain.

I expected the forwarding confirmation to work the same way as verifying group membership, but it is more complicated.

So perhaps it is easier to create a forwarding group, and setup forwarding from the email address to the group.
Once the forwarding is setup, I can invite more members to the group, who will automatically receive all forwarded messages.
