Mail loading very slow

Hi, I am finding that, when I click on a folder, mail is very slow to load. I am using the web interface in Chrome both on my laptop and desktop and finding the same behaviour. I have emptied all emails from my inbox so it is empty and that didn't help. Is this to do with mnaintenance and can you tell me when it might be back to normal service? Are others seeing the same behaviour?
