Make Unread emails stand out more

Make Unread emails stand out more

Hi, I am finding it very hard to tell which emails are unread - is there a way to make them stand out more - apply a different background colour, or make the bolding more obvious?

I missed an important email yesterday because it arrived in a thread I had read and I didn't notice the subtle bolding :(
