I have created a Client Services module which will contain a record of all active and inactive services I provide to my clients.
There is a lookup field to the customer, account, assigned employee and related deal.
This allows me to populate email templates with all the information I need.
However, when I click the blue email button the To email field is always blank. This is because it is not possible to map the Contact's lookup Email field to the record's email field.
It would therefore be great if a custom email field on the record could be marked as the "functional" email. This would result in that email being prepopulated into the To field on emails and related emails to be shown in the related Emails list for that record.
Perhaps there are some other ways around this like just giving the ability to map the lookup email to the record's email.
I'm open to other suggestions :)
