Marketer's Space - Responsive Email Design

In the previous post of this week's marketer's space, we discussed the first technique involved in designing emails responsive across multiple devices. In this post, we shall discuss our second technique - Progressive Disclosure.

Progressive Disclosure

Progressive disclosure is a method of managing content complexity by displaying only the content that is necessary at the first point of interaction. Furthermore, detailed information are displayed as the recipients interact with the message. To give a more appealing and minimal look in smaller screens, display the primary information and wrap the secondary information into clickable links, clicking which will show the extra details. This will save the reader from a cluttered email.

Progressive disclosure paves way for a clean, and simpler email interfaces. The basic idea is that this method allows the email senders to indicate that there is something important in the content which might interest recipients in learning more about something just by a tap. Attached with this post is the html code for progressive disclosure that can be used in your emails.
