Mass E-mail

I am trying to send a mass e-mail to my leads and my contacts but every time I go to send the e-mail through the mass e-mail option it tells me that the e-mails are invalid. I have mass e-mailed these clients before with no problems, but now nothing will go through. What could be causing the issue?
