Members not showing up

When vo was installed initially, we were able to add members to the friends list and instant message. Now, the members list comes up blank and instant messenger doesn't pop up. Neither do reminders.

Any ideas why it stopped all of a sudden? (It's been less than a month.) Did we set something incorrectly? We have checked for pop up blockers.
