Microsoft Word getting blank document when using TrueSync or Genie

Hi, 

I'm encountering a problem when trying to use Microsoft Word 2019 to edit a pre-existing file on Workdrive. For both TrueSync and Genie, the desktop app opens with a blank document instead of the pre-existing non-blank document. 

What is strange is that Microsoft Excel 2019 is working correctly - it opens with the pre-existing non-blank spreadsheet.

The Word problem happens on all browsers that I have tried: Brave, Firefox, Chrome, Edge. For the browsers, I do have Malwarebytes and anti-tracking extensions installed.   

The OS is Windows10 Pro 21H2 with Bitdefender firewall.
