Migrate data from accounts to potentials

Migrate data from accounts to potentials

I'd like some advice if possible. I'm trying to move data from specific fields in my Accounts to the same fields in my potentials. Is there an easy way to do this. I have tried exporting my Accounts data, renaming the CSV columns and then importing them as potentials my idea was that i could import the potentials as half filled out potentials, with missing data, and then merge the duplicate information into the existing potentials. H owever this poses a problem as the exported data doesn't contain the potential name or id which i think is needed to find duplicates as these are the unique fields. The only other option i thought of was that I could use the Account name as a unique field to match duplicates however i'm not able to edit the account name on the potentials as this is a built in field.

any advice around this problem would be helpful.
