Mismatch between output from Zoho APIs and Zoho CRM for simple queries

Hi,

I need to pull simple data from Zoho CRM like trial start and end dates and lead status for which I am using API   getMyRecords . However the results I  get from these APIs is  different in count then when I view it on the Zoho CRM applying the same filters ! . 

For Eg A query of trial start date = current month & lead status doesn't contain blowout gives output as 35 in API run query and 24 in Zoho CRM view when I apply this as a filter. ( screen shots attached)

Also though records in Lead module is more than 200 ,my query is always on recent data so I am hoping this issue is not due to index limit of 200.

I have attached screen shot of both Zoho CRM and API** output log in xml if it helps . I am really confused on how to get over this mis match .

Also I have already spoken to Zoho support for long hours and though I was told it can't happen it's not yet resolved . I have been scheduled for next call with their developer team after 3 days  and any help is greatly  appreciated.
