Missing IMAP messages

I just downloaded and installed a demo version of Virtual Office, and configured it for IMAP access to my mail server (running mDaemon version 8.1.2). I have quite a few IMAP folders, and some of those folders have a lot of messages in them. Virtual Office shows all the folders, but some folders have no messages, even though messages are on the server.

If I access the server with a different IMAP client, such as Outlook, Thunderbird, or mDaemon's native web client, then I can see all the messages, but not with Virtual Office.

I'm shopping for a groupware product, and I like the look and feel of Virtual office so far, but the IMAP problem is a big issue. Most of our users depend greatly on their mail. Also, the lack of spell check is a stumbling block, although there are products that can be installed on the clients computer to handle spelling. But it would be nice, and much more elegant if that was handled by Virtual office.

For our application, email is the most important part of the package It must function well and be feature rich. Second in line is the schedule, and all other things come after that.

I've looked at the folders that are missing messages, but I don't see a common thread. Some folders are suppose to have lots of messages, over 1000, while some of the empty folders have only 74 messages. So, it does not seem to be folder size dependent.
