More Bugs in 3.2 build 3200
Hello,
I recently discovered that great program, it's very usable and have what I need. Unfourtunately it have some important bugs.
I have installed the version 3.2 build 3200 from zero on a Windows XP prof. SP2 with a Intel P4 DELL system with 1 GB Ram. In I.E. v. 6.0.2900.2180 and Mozilla Firefox v. 1.5.0.2.
Problems:
- Inside a User group, when you add new users as users or moderators, you can not erase it or change from user to moderator or viceversa only if your username have the name like: "s.valls" if the username have a dot, then you get an error when the program tries to execute the script.
- In the email manager program. When it downloads the emails from the server in POP acounts, it does'nt delete it from the server. That is particular important when you have a Blackberry phone connected to that email account, because you will receive the email in the email of the VO and also in the phone. Normally to avoid that problem we have the email client (like MS outlook or thunderbird) configured to download emails every 2 minutes and because the blackberry software needs aprox. 10 minutes to detect the email and send it to the phone, you will only receive the emails in the email client if this it's open, and when you leave the office and close that email client, then youwill receive it on the mobile phone. It think that will be an important option for business to add in the software.
- In the "Personal" label, inside the contacts option, you can not add contacts for the group. You can view the group contacts, and when you click in "add new contact" you enter the contact inside, but after validate the process, this contact it is not inside your group contact but in your personal ones.
- In the group calendar you can not view the all month or all week view, only day by day. For service and comercial departments who has to travel all day and there is one manager that assigns every person for every day in diferent places, it is important that option. Also following this way, it would be important that the group moderators could edit the calendars of every people in the group, so they can assign the availability and jobs to every person in the department.
- Talking about the calendar again, it woul be important to have the option in the moth view to start from monday, because you can adjust it, but only for the week view. The same with the time, it would be also great to have the hour in 24h format.
- Calendar again: This option it's good to add fixed holidays (like 4th of July in USA), but:
When you assign the holiday days, the users can only see it in the personal calendar, not in the group one.
Also it would be important to have the option to add the company holidays (summer, winter, etc. holidays) whicth it's diferent every year. For that you will need to say when it starts, when it ends, and maybe also whitch users, because usually companies makes the holidays in two or three time to avoid the total number of days that it's closed.
- Backup: Will be necesary to say where to put the backup files, it's not useful to backup the data and let there in the same place, if for ex. the HDD crashes, everything will be dead.
But not very important, as you can backup the whole VO directory with standard backup software.
I think that everyting for now on. As you can see I was trying to test very deep how the program is. It's a really good piece of software for it's really plain learning curve and utility, but needs some small polish.
