More context, fewer tabs: View lookup modules' data within a Zoho CRM Canvas page

I'm here today to share another exciting enhancement in Zoho CRM Canvas.

How often do your CRM users juggle multiple browser tabs just to piece together the full context of a record? This update can make their lives easier.


You can now add lookup modules' fields to a Canvas detail view page and a Canvas list view page. These fields will be read-only and reflect the latest data in the lookup record. 

Here's an example.

  • On a deal's Canvas detail view page, provide a short business profile by adding account module fields like industry, annual revenue, and employee size on the page itself.


Then, simply add a prebuilt Canvas tab containing all account module fields. This lets your users delve deeper into a record's context without juggling multiple browser tabs.


What if the account details change? You needn't worry as these fields will show the latest values found in the lookup record.

You can do the same for Canvas list view pages to give your users the context they need without having to enter the record. For example, your users can scan and compare key account details across multiple deals at a glance without opening individual records.

How does this help your users?
From the moment a user enters a module, you can start providing context for the details they see. Let's take the case of sales representatives. 
 
When the sales representatives open the deals module, the most important account details are available to them immediately. For example, the sales representative can view the account's industry, size, and annual revenue details for each deal on the list. They can do this without having to open each deal record. 
 
When they find a deal they need to focus on, they click into the record, and they can instantly view other important account details along with the industry, size, and annual revenue on the Deal Detail View. Previously, they would've had to open the account record in a new tab and switch back. 
 
Let's say that the sales representative needs to access additional account details to refine a proposal. They click All Fields - Account Name where they find additional details like ownership type. Using this information, they start crafting a tailored proposal. For example, if the company is a public company, they may focus on sustainability and compliance benefits to strengthen their pitch. 
 
Your sales representative can save time, work smarter, and increase their chances of closing the deal—all without opening multiple tabs to get the context they need. 

Note 
  • You can find these fields under the Data section in the Canvas builder.
  • This is not available on mobile Canvas detail view pages.
  • You can add fields from a maximum of five lookup modules in a Canvas detail view page.
  • You can add fields from a maximum of three lookup modules in a Canvas list view page.
