I've tried repeatedly to get an mpp/mpx file imported into my project.

I'm limited/stuck with having a large list of tasks already on my system (Mac OSX) based.

Although I use OmniPlan - which exports to MPX / MPP formats.

None of these are recognised by Zoho .. any advice ?

I can't see why a simple CSV import can not be implemented as this would be universally accessible by anyone - it renders the system very difficult to work with and collaborate with others on, i'm very tempted to try a different online project management tool if I can't get my tasks imported.
