Mulitple Account Owners

We have the need to have more than one account owner for accounts, contacts and leads. Is this a possibility? If so, how do you add an additional owner to the account? If this is not possible, is there a way to set up a specific role that can only see accounts, leads, or contacts that are assigned to specific owners? Your help is appreciated!
