Multi-table formula fields

In managing thousands of leads, it is extremely helpful to us if we can have fields in the leads list that display such things as the number of calls we have made to a lead; or conversely to have fields in the actions list that display lead information such as company size. This makes it easy to prioritize the action list (e.g., mass update the SMBs to high priority), or to take appropriate further actions (change the lead status after X calls have been unsuccessfully attempted).

Is there any way to create a formula field in - for example - the lead table that makes calculations based on a field in the associated action table, i.e., a field that could display the number of calls made to a lead, or the number of emails sent?
