Multiple contacts/lead

Hello all

I am feeling a little puzzled about how best to handle a sales activity tracking issue. 


I am cold calling leads for appointments.  My appointments must include owner/decision-maker

  • Some of my leads are the key decision maker and owner of the lead company that I am hoping to meet with. 
  • In other cases I am speaking with an office manager who is not the owner or key decision maker. 

What do you folks recommend about the best way to handle data for a lead like this?  I am reluctant to create two leads of the same company because I'm concerned that can create a lot of problems. I am contemplating the idea of creating a second set of contact fields within the lead - contact fields for office manager or exec assistant.  Then my contact notes could describe who at the lead company I spoke with.
