Need a report that gets me new customers of last quarter (even though account may already exists for a while)

Need a report that gets me new customers of last quarter (even though account may already exists for a while)

For a report I need to be able to present all new/reactivated customers of the last quarter. I cannot use account creation date or anything like that, as accounts may have been in our CRM environment for  while but no potential has been won yet. So I want the report to include accounts at which we have not won a deal in say for two years, but we did win one in the last quarter. Any ideas?

I have advanced reporting in place as well
