Nested IF Statements with && for determining IF greater than and less then help please

I have a currency field in Potentials called 'Initial Opportunity Value'.

I'm wanting to create a new formula field that gives a simple number score, based on a banding of values for which the 'Initial Opportunity Value' will be populated. So:

If Potentials.Initial Opportunity Value is greater than or equal to £1 & less than or equal to £2500 then equals 1
OR
If Potentials.Initial Opportunity Value is greater than £2500 & less than or equal to £10000 then equals 2
OR
If Potentials.Initial Opportunity Value is greater than £10000 & less than or equal to £25000 then equals 4
OR
If Potentials.Initial Opportunity Value is greater than £25000 & less than or equal to £40000 then equals 6
OR
If Potentials.Initial Opportunity Value is greater than £40000 & less than or equal to £60000 then equals 8
OR
If Potentials.Initial Opportunity Value is greater than £60000 & less than or equal to £100000 then equals 12
OR
If Potentials.Initial Opportunity Value is greater than £100000 then equals 15
OR
Else if 0 or blank then equals 0

Here is as far as I can get:

Step 1 – firstly writing a formula to say if Initial Opportunity Value is greater than 1, then give a value of 1. This works without errors:

If(${Potentials.Initial Opportunity Value}>=1,1,0)

Step 2 – Im wanting to say If Potentials.Initial Value is greater than or equal to 1 but less than or equal to 2500 then equals 1.
Here is my attempt:
If(${Potentials.Initial Opportunity Value}>=1 && If(${Potentials.Initial Opportunity Value}<=2500,1,0)

I keep playing with but get different errors each time - it's the use of the '&&' that I don't understand how to apply. I get Incorrect Syntax or formula errors or missing braces. Not sure what else to do.


Step 3 – Once I have step 2 understood, I want to nest several of these and statements together with OR statements to cover off all of the bandings as per the above. Please can you help teach me how to do this?
