New/first install = Bad experience!

New/first install = Bad experience!

Jeesh, I almost had a heart attack just a few minutes ago. After installing Zoho Virtual Office, all my favorites vanished. Somehow, ZVO was pointing to C: instead. Other things with Windows Explorer just weren't working correctly. I steeled myself for data recovery mode, but luckily everything put back right--as best can now be seen--with only an uninstall of ZVO.

'Tis not a good first experience with something to which I greatly looked forward. And why the *forrrrrever* start-up/load time? I'm on a pretty fast machine with 1 gig of RAM, but I still needed to just get up and go make coffee before being able to sit down at a "fully net-app-topped" and ready-for-use Zoho Virtual Office desktop. My computer's start-up time went from approximately 90 seconds to almost 4 minutes after ZVO installation!

That said, I love the "feel" of what I see. I like the "gestalt" of it all. (You've definitely beat M$ and Google in that regard.) I do not see issues with migration so great as to prevent adoption, but I am already far less trusting about where I place any data after what appeared to be an all-but-complete installation failure (yet seemingly excellent recover) of the client.

Any notions from others as to what may have gone wrong to throw Windows Explorer into such disarray and force an immediate uninstallation of a package I really, really wanted to use?
