new mail format vs old

Using the old mail format my 15-inch laptop lists 21 messages on a screen with 1 line per message. The new format lists only 7 messages. Since almost all newer screens are in the 16 x 9 range, there is much more horizontal space to list recipient, subject and date on one line, rather than taking up the the smaller vertical space with two lines per message, and wasting unused horizontal space. So the old format is much more efficient and preferable.

Please keep the old format available as an option. Dropping the old format would force me to abandon Zoho mail.
