New Pivot Tables in Zoho Sheet
Pivot Tables lets you slice and dice the data in your spreadsheet
and helps you gather meaningful insights from your data. Though Pivot
Table was already available in Zoho Sheet, we have now completely
revamped it, made it more powerful and have integrated it seamlessly
into your spreadsheet experience.
We provide you with an intuitive user interface where
you can drag and drop fields into rows, columns, data and filter
boxes to draw your Pivot Table. Here are the capabilities of our
new Pivot Tables:
- Drag and drop up to 5 row fields and/or 5 column
fields by which you need to group and aggregate your
data.
- Have 1 data field and
aggregate it based on its Sum / Count / Maximum / Minimum /
Product. We will be supporting more than 1 data field very
soon.
- Date fields in Rows/Columns
could be grouped by Year / Quarter / Month / Day / Day of
Week / Quarter by Year / Month by Year.
- Add up to 5 filter fields to filter your Pivot Table.
- Sort and Filter the Pivot Table based on the
row/column fields.
- Dress up your
Pivot Tables with different colored styles readily
available.
- A Pivot Table can be in
a separate worksheet or it can reside in an existing
worksheet. A single worksheet can contain multiple Pivot
Tables.
- As the Pivot Table is more
native to the spreadsheet now, they can be treated as normal
cells in your spreadsheet. For example, you can refer to
cells of a Pivot Table in a formula or Draw charts on top of
a Pivot Table or Print the spreadsheet along with the Pivot
Table.
- Move your Pivot Table to a
different location or change the source range when
needed.
- When you import your
spreadsheet, the Pivot Tables in it get imported as well.
Export of Pivot Tables is also supported, except for the
xlsx format where the data gets exported, but it won't
be recognized as a Pivot Table.
- Use Refresh / Refresh All to refresh your Pivot Table when
existing data is modified or new data is added to the source range.
You can invoke the Pivot Tables functionality by
selecting your table range (or any cell in the range) and
clicking on the 'Pivot Table' button available under the
'Data' tab.

Important Note: If you have the old Pivot Tables and
Pivot Charts on your existing spreadsheets, we recommend you to
recreate your Pivot Tables and Charts by October 15th 2015.
The old Pivot Tables and Pivot Charts will not be rendered after
that. For more information on this, refer
this post.
