No data sharing since my trial finished

Hi,

HELP! I am using the Free edition CRM since my trial period expired.  I am (as an administrator) trying to share data (accounts, leads, contacts etc) that I have created, and I am owner of, with another user I have created, but he cannot see any records.  

The Data Sharing Settings on the Setup page is greyed out (as this is a Paid Edition only function) so I cant check to see if sharing is switched off.  

How can I fix this?
