Not receiving all emails

I have recently discovered that I am not receiving emails from some senders that in the past I would get with no problems, I still seem to be receiving emails from most people and I am not sure what causes them to not come through for certain people and they are not showing up in my spam filter as well.
Is there anything I can check on this?
