As promised in http://help.zoho.com/portal/en/community/topic/how-to-set-the-url-field-to-open-in-a-new-window-as-default%3f , behavior of Target option for Image and URL field types will be changed as follows.

Change in configuring the target option for Image and URL Field types:

The target options ("New window", "Same Window") for Image and URL field types has been moved to the "Edit" option of the field. This change has been made to ensure that only the application owner has full control of this option, giving a consistent behavior for the data.

Prior to this, the application owner had the control only to enable/disable the "target" option and the end user could choose if the data needs to be displayed in a new window or same window, leading to inconsistent behavior.

How this change will affect existing forms with Image/URL field types:

Existing form data with Image and URL field types, which has the target option enabled, will still be displayed as configured by the user.  If the application owner wants a consistent behavior, he needs to change the target option in the "edit" option of the field once and it will be reflected in the data accordingly. (i.e) if the owner sets the target as "new window", all the Image/URL field data that is already submitted, will be opened in a new window, irrespective of the selections made by the user.
