Old Gmail inbox migration to Zoho mail
Hi,
I have been checking Zoho products for a while. This week finally decided to migrate my company mail accounts from Gmail to Zoho.
I was looking for sometime and could not found a way to perform this; only found the way to take a backup of my old account into Zoho connecting throught pop3 server; but I'm not looking for that, I want that in my new Zoho Mail inbox appear all my mail messages and conversations as I see it in Gmail.
Searching in Google and in Zoho Mail docs the workaround begun to clarify, and it was simple:
- Using the Gmail IMAP Account Setup and Smartsave thunderbird extension for Thunderbird 2.0, I could configure my Gmail account and export all messages to .eml files.
- I zipped the eml files (of each folder) and using de Import/Export tool of Zoho Mail for import messages into my mail account.
- Finally I got my new Zoho Mail inbox with my old messages and conversations. None message was rejected in the import process.

Another workaround:
- Configure Gmail account (pop3) in Zoho Mail.
- Export old messages using Import/Export tool.
- Wait 1 hour to receive the export file link.
- Change to my new Zoho Mail inbox.
- Import old messages using Import/Export tool.
- Delete Gmail account from Zoho

For 5 small mail accounts the migration process took me just a couple hours. All old messages and conversations was migrate without errors.
I hope this post can help you; however if you have another process or official documentation about it I will appreciate so much.
Zoho team suggestion: In the import/export tool add a message like "Import has been scheduled to be executed ... in X hours/ at 00:00"
