On screen Keyboard disappears

On screen Keyboard disappears

Using a Samsung SM-J326AZ running Android 7.0, and Writer 4.3.2, I've found a problem when I'm switching back forth between Writer and other applications.

When I open Writer to create a new document the on screen keyboard pops up as it should. Next, I switch to Firefox to consult my source document for my new document. Next, I switch back to Writer and my on screen keyboard does not appear. I can save the document and re-open it and the keyboard reappears. This is a bad work around for this issue.

Any thoughts or suggestions?
