Please tell me how to make the email links in Zoho CRM point to a web-based email client.
Right now they always open Outlook. We don't use Outlook and never will. We don't even have an office. We are a virtual company, everyone can work from anywhere, that's why we want to use your web-based applications. So why are you forcing us to use an off-line program to send email from a web-based application? If I'm using a different computer I suddenly loose the ability to email from within the CRM environment.
I think all will agree that it is handy to have a traceable trail for messaging. Then you know who sent what and when.
So to complicate matters more, when I click on the "Email Invoice" button an internal mini-email client opens up to whisk the invoice away. The weird thing is it puts my Gmail address in the from field. The result being that I just sent an invoice to a client but there is no trace of that action in my main email client.
I stand corrected. More weirdness. The email client associated with the invoices and purchase orders did actually some how send through Gmail.
So within one Contact record I can call two different email clients. Click on the contact's address and outlook opens, scroll down click on the "send mail" button and the internal client opens with my Gmail address already inserted. I actually cannot change the address in the 'From' field. Even if I change my company settings to my domain's email it still will only send from my Gmail.
Would it not make sense to have all the email links open your own ZOHO Mail? Can you please show us how to do this. Then we can say bye bye gmail.
