We would like to inquire if it is possible to convert a Request into a specific existing Work Order (as a child or linked Work Order) instead of always creating a new one.

Context:

• An inspection/emergency Work Order is completed for an asset
• During inspection/emergency, an issue is identified
• A quotation is created and sent to the client via CRM
• Once approved, CRM automatically generates a Request
• This Request is related to the same asset and inspection activity

Current Limitation:

• The only available option is “Convert to Work Order”, which creates a new Work Order
• There is no option to link or convert the Request to an existing Work Order (e.g., the original inspection WO as parent)

Requirement:

• Ability to convert a Request into a specific existing Work Order
• Or link the Request as a child / related Work Order under a parent WO
• Maintain traceability between:
  • Inspection WO
  • Follow-up corrective WO (from approved quotation)

Impact:
Without this functionality:

• Work Orders are disconnected
• Difficult to track the full lifecycle (Inspection → Issue → Quotation → Execution)
• Manual tracking is required outside the system

Request:

• Please confirm if it is possible to:
  • Convert a Request into a specific existing Work Order, or
  • Link the Request/WO under a parent Work Order
• If not available, kindly advise if there are any workarounds (e.g., linking fields, workflows, or custom functions)

This functionality is important for maintaining proper workflow tracking and asset history.
