Outgoing emails from iphone not showing up in Zoho

I have set up Zoho CRM to use my gmail account (google apps mail, actually) for incoming and outgoing mail.  

Let's say I have a contact or lead in Zoho CRM - bob, for example - and his email address is bob@att.net

If i send an email from Zoho's internal mail tab to bob@att.net, i can see in my contacts/lead section for bob that an email was sent from me to bob.

If i send an email from gmail's webmail (gmail.com, or in my case, mail.flushpuppies.com as part of google apps) to bob@att.net, it also shows up in Zoho CRM when i look at the contacts/leads tab under bob.

HOWEVER, if i send an email from my iphone (configured for IMAP on the same gmail/google apps email account) to bob, it does NOT show up as a sent mail in the leads/contacts page for bob.  

can someone please explain how i can configure my iphone mail client to sync my outgoing mail so that emails sent from my iphone to Zoho leads/contacts/accounts show up in CRM.  Are there special smtp settings i should be using??

Please help!  I email primarily though my iphone, and so it's imperative that alll my outgoing emails from there are integrated into Zoho.
