Outlook Edition

I was under the impression that one could have the Free edition and then pay $3.00/month to add Outlook functionality. That doesn't appear to be correct. So, before committing to the full paid edition, can you activate a short free trial period for the Outlook Edition to work with my free account so that I can determine if it is what I need.
