Outlook Plugin - Checking Duplicates

I've just begun to use the Outlook Plugin with CRM.
I have around 1000 contacts in Outlook and just a handful in CRM. I initiated the Contact Sync at around 9AM this morning, and we are still checking for Duplicates at 12:15PM.

This seems to be taking quite a bit more time than I would have suspected.

How long should it take to initially load approximately 1000 contacts?
