Hello I would like to suggest the idea (suggested before) of having a signature field in the modules (deals module especailly!) It would be very helpful for small businesses or shops where a simple customer agreement is being made. Essentially, this would allow zoho CRM to be used as a point of sale service for any service type industry where a simple agreement is made. (Gyms, Spas, Beauty Salons, Car Shops, Membership type places etc). Make it so it is only valid for the enterprise edition as well.
For legal-proof documents the best thing would still be for them to upload their pdf on zoho sign or other e-sign module (Again this suggestion is for a simple customer agreement)
The signature field itself could be bound to a new section in a deal form. A signature can be created for one or all/any related contacts selected in the deal creation stage. The signature field can ideally have the selected contacts name & date of signing so the signature png can be also stamped with regular text (within png).
The signature field will just be a text drawing field that a user can write with either computer mouse or with finger (if touchpad). Once saved a png(that has name and timestamp) is auto attached to the deal in a new "signature" section. However, when actually printing the dealout on paper (giving copy of deal to client for example), the signature png (along with deal details) appears formatted under the proper signature field with the name and timestamp embedded in the same png holding the signature.
Within that section a list of details/points that customer is agreeing to can be assigned (based on manual text or other pre-selected fields in the deal) so when customer signs, a popup will occur confirming the points/details/fields a customer is signing for.
This would be great for service related industries. A car shop for example. Client takes car in, a deal is created in zoho between client and shop. The deal contains all relevant service details selected and when client is prompted to sign (triggered by changing deal stage). Client signs, the signature is recorded as a png along with a timestamp (within png).
The signature can create a popup asking client to agree to terms, warranty, refunds etc (anything predetermined or pre-selected on previous deal fields). And finally validation rules could be set on those terms and if they are not agreed upon (by picklist) then they can not continue to next deal stage.
I understand Zoho sign is there as well and that is great for legal-proof documents or documents that have to be formatted a very specific way.
This type of signature field would possibly not conform to the E-Signature requirements & laws and even if it does not 100% hold up in a court of law, would still be great as an easy way to provide a simple agreement between a client and shop. (Having a simple agreement is sufficient for small shops/services)
A disclaimer can also be set somewhere in Zoho that the signature field is not meant for legal agreements and if a user requires a legal document, they must upload their own and use another e-signature module on zoho.
