Poll Bot v 4.1 - Private & Public Polls, Durations and Results

Be it choosing a new strategy or a dinner restaurant, polls have interwoven into workplace essentials and is a major requirement of any company. Knowing the importance of polls, we have an exclusive bot to help with all things polls — the Poll Bot !


Installation:

Poll bot can be installed for your team or your entire organization from the Cliq Marketplace. Click on the link  below for easy access. 



Note: Only org admins can install an extension for the entire organization, whereas users can install only for their team.


Drop polls in your chats

To run polls via poll bot, you need to subscribe to it. Click on the (+) of Bots in left sidebar, look for Poll Bot and subscribe to it!

  1. When conversing in a chat, drop in a simple poll and arrive at decisions quicker and cleaner. Just type /poll in the chat window and hit enter. The poll form will appear on screen where you can fill in the details and launch your poll.
  2. You can also start a poll from inside Poll Bot. Look for poll bot in search and click on it. In the actions displayed at bottom, click on Run a Poll. 

Tip: You can even select multiple chats to run your poll in .



Take your poll Public 


The poll bot not only runs polls in your chats, but it can also collect answers and feedback from everyone in your company. When filling up the poll form, select Public under Audience field. This will launch your poll to everyone in your company.

Just a note (an important one!), make sure that you enable Notifications for public polls under Configure action, so as to not miss out on new public poll notifications.



You can also click on the action Public Polls anytime to view the list of polls currently running in your company.

To ensure that public polls are not rained upon in your company, by default the bot allows only the organization admins to conduct these polls. The org admins can extend this permission to other users via Configure action.



Get your results hand delivered


When you poll, you can view the current result by clicking on the View results button in the poll card. You can see the number of votes for each answer and the poll author will be able to view the voters' names. However in an anonymous poll, even the poll author cannot view the voters' names, only numbers will be visible to everyone!

When a poll's duration ends, its results will be broadcasted by the bot to everyone who voted and to the author, the following day at morning. When a poll is closed manually by the author, then the results will be posted instantly to everyone via the bot.




Your polls at your fingertips

Polls you’ve authored and took part in can be easily accessed anytime for further actions via My Polls and My Responses actions respectively. You can Share your poll in other chats to engage a wider audience, view the Results anytime when needed, Extend its duration to run a little longer, and finally close the poll manually by clicking on End.



Been a while you voted on a poll and wanna know its answer now? Then click on My Responses action to view all your responses till date.
