POP with MS Outlook 2010 - Stored Passwords

I do not wish to store my password in MS Outlook on the PC I use as it can easily be decrypted using programs freely available on the net.

If I untick "remember password" in Outlook 2010, I am able to receive Zoho mail normally by entering the password when the POP server prompts Outlook to ask for the password.

However, I am unable to send mail via smtp.zoho.com as the server does not prompt Outlook to ask for the password and just times out.
This is rather odd as this problem does not occur with Hotmail, Yahoo or Lavabit mail which I also POP through Outlook.

Is there a workaround or a solution for this?
