Possible To Do This Within Zoho CRM Home?

I'd REALLY love to try to customize Zoho CRM home more. Specifically, is it at all possible to add tiles/sections that do the following:

- Add a very basic notepad tile? - How great would it be to be able to quickly jot a note within Zoho CRM home? I've tried, but can't figure out a trick or hack to make this work. Thoughts? I know there are stickies, but these are sort of irritating and just too yellow 
- Show today's events from Zoho Mail Calendar in a CRM home tile. - I know, this is a stretch, but it's nice to dream, right?
