Problem with javascript and form behaviour

Hi,

I have a form with very simple onLoad script:

disable fieldname;

I had a large script initially but stripped it just one line with no success.
When it loads it throws out javascript error:

Error: syntax error

Also I have the exactly same problem with other scripts on page.

Browsers tested: FF3.6.3, IE8, Opera 9.64

If I remove the script completely then the page loads fine, but any onUserInput scripts will cause the same JS error.
