I tried everything I could think of on how to accomplish this with workflow automation:

"When a lead is created or edited, apply some actions (such as field updates), wait and then convert".

Basically, you cant delay a workflow if you plan to convert and you can do field updates if you are going to convert. I need these field updates to make them enter into particular workflows once they are a contact.

The use case, is that I have automated email notifications that are triggered with some time difference, both in the leads module and in the contact module. In the contact module, leads enter into a pipeline based on their fields which send them automatically an email, so I want to put some time in between the email at Lead stage and email at Contact stage.

What I did, and doesn't work, was the following:

1. Created a workflow automation that, if a particular field is update to a particular value, then it converts the record.

2. Created a workflow automation that when a particular (different field) is updated, it triggers a field update that triggers workflow (1).

3. Anywhere where I want to convert with delay, I delayed the trigger and I add a field update that triggers workflow automation (2).

Well, the workflows are triggered, BUT the workflow (1) never converts, despite meeting all the criteria.

Why is this?

Is there a workaround?
