I have developed a task list with multiple dependent subtasks.  Each subtask is dependent on the previous tasks completion.  Such as design>(subtask) approval > (subtask) RFQ > (subtask) approval > (subtask) contract award.  Since these subtasks are progressive and predependent on one another like a cascade, I can't figure out how to make a task completed, becasue when I mark it "status closed" (like the RFQ has been forwarded) all the subtasks below it show up closed when in fact they are yet to be completed are are merely dependent on the subtask before it to be competed before we can move on to the next step.

What do I need to to do here?
