Projects - Weekly Time Log - User changes incorrectly after Project selection

I am reviewing Projects for our needs and I am for the most part satisfied, but not sure if the issue I've come across is a bug or a misconfiguration.

I have the need for multiple users to be able to access projects (I setup a Team and associated it), but we will be using the weekly time log aspect, but when one of my employees (setup as an employee user role and profile, they cannot use the weekly for this reason.

After selecting the Project, which is owned by my user, the user field is changed to my user instead of staying as the 'Me' and they cannot change it to their user.

So is this a bug or a setting I've need to change?
