Query based report

Hello, I'm very new to this....just started. I want to see if this tool will meet my needs. I've created an app that will allow for us to take reservations at a restaurant. My date field (date of reservation) is formatted so it shows the day of week as well.....(Mon Apr, 7 2014).

I want to be able to create a report that allows me to see all reservations for a specific day. For example, I want a quick view of how many reservations I have on May 3rd.

I've successfully created reports to show todays reservations, tomorrows reservations, next 7 days. I just cannot figure out how to pick a specific date.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
