Question about Spam processing

When I am in front of my computer, I can use the Zoho webmail client to flag messages in my inbox as Spam. However, when I am using my mobile device, I don't have an option to mark mail as Spam.

1. If I move messages from my Inbox to my Spam folder but do not flag them as Spam, does the Zoho Spam filter system learn those e-mails?

2. Why does it seem like I am constantly getting Spam? I have been diligent about flagging Spam mails but I still end up receiving at least a dozen spam e-mails per day. I don't have a lot of great things to say about Gmail, but when I was using Gmail, the incidence of Spam that actually made it to my inbox was much lower - like one Spam per month .

For what it's worth, I really like Zoho's service and I would hate to leave it over one issue, but I'm really not impressed with the Spam handling. Any info you can provide would be really helpful.
