Picklists are custom drop down lists with predefined values and formats that can be applied on the desired cell range. These customized drop-downs help you control the data entered into your spreadsheet and speeds up the process too!

Effortless data entry 

Entering data manually is tedious and may lead to typos or misplaced values in your spreadsheet. Luckily, Zoho Sheet offers a solution to this problem with picklists. Once you create a picklist on a range, only the values in that specific list can be chosen into the cell. This way, you and your collaborators can easily search for values and choose them from the drop down list, thus saving the time spent on typing them manually and preventing data-entry errors.

Already have a list of values on your sheet that you want to convert into a picklist? Just ensure that you include those values in the selected cell range, and your list will use those values by default! Once your list is ready, you can reorder or sort it as desired.

The best part is, if you wish to change any value in the list, you can simply make the change in the picklist settings and the same will reflect in all the cells containing that value.

Predefined formats 

Picklists also allow you to set predefined formats, namely cell fill color and text color, for each value in the drop down list. So, once the specific value is entered into the cell, the respective formats are applied to the cell automatically.
