recording of times--Sheet or Creator?

I am wondering how 'granular' Sheet can be?

I would like to be able to record a separate time for multiple activities which are done in quick succession, and each one varies in duration, sometimes considerably.
I would like the results to be tabulated across all activities on a daily basis.

I would like to know what you would recommend to undertake this--a sheet or a creator document? Can this be done at all by either of these applications?
