In C5, I want to create a page that serves as a "dashboard" for a specific asset. The page should display all records in a log that specifically relate to that asset (by ID). How do I have the criteria for the reports on the page filter by that specific asset ID, given that it needs to be dynamic? To be clear, it doesn't need to update or refresh dynamically, I just want the page to show all records for a given asset, chosen by a stateless form, or forwarding from a button.
My first idea was to use a page parameter, but while the C5 documentation shows how to set a parameter, it doesn't show how to access the passed parameter value, and it doesn't seem to work if I use the parameter name in the report criteria on the page (maybe I'm doing it wrong?).
My other idea was to set a value of the currently selected Asset in a "Global Variables" table, but the report criteria doesn't seem to want to access the global variables table. I tried adding a lookup to the logs that automatically points to the Key that would contain the selected asset, but the report criteria won't let me compare the asset serial or ID to the global variable value.
Any ideas? Am I going about this the wrong way?
